美금리 인상 여진 남아 있어 하방경직성
(서울=포커스뉴스) 3거래일째 미끄러지던 원화 가치가 소폭 반등했다.
20일 서울 외환시장에서 원·달러 환율은 전 거래일 대비 3.7원 하락(원화 가치 상승)한 1188.0원에 출발했다.
그동안 미국의 6월 금리인상설로 나타났던 달러 강세 흐름이 진정됐다. 전날 외환시장은 4월 미국 연방공개시장위원회(FOMC) 의사록 공개와 연방준비은행 관계자들의 금리 인상 선호 발언으로 크게 조정을 받았다. 환율은 이번주 들어 20원 넘게 급등했다.
시장에서는 가파르게 상승했던 부담으로 환율의 추가 상승은 둔화될 것으로 봤다. 하지만 6월 금리인상설의 여진에 따른 신흥국 통화 부담감 영향으로 하락폭 역시 크지 않을 것으로 예상하고 있다.WASHINGTON - OCTOBER 14:The words In God We Trust are seen on U.S. currency October 14, 2004 in Washington, DC.
